Vermont Law School, Sugarbush Farms, & Saco River Brewing Raspberry Seltzers

Today was action-packed from beginning to end. We left our hotel in Brattleboro, Vermont around 8:30 am and had breakfast at the hotel. We ate waffles, chicken sausage, bananas, and orange juice. Then we were on our way to South Royalton, Vermont, where my cousin Mellie is going to school for environmental law. The town was super cute with a gazebo in the middle and many small shops. We took pictures everywhere and I got a lavender london fog at the coffee shop in town. 

Then after walking the camps, we decided to head to Woodstock, Vermont, and see Sugarbush Farms. It was gorgeous and we went to the shed which shows you how to tap the maple trees for syrup. What I thought was cool is that they make and sell cheese all year round because they can only tap the maple trees a few months throughout the year. We sampled all the cheeses and syrups which were amazing. We bought some cheese and cider salami for snacking! 

After the farm, we went to the Vermont Institute of Natural Science to see the birds of prey! We could only stay for a little while to make it to Mount Washington and into North Conway by 5 pm. We stopped on little side roads and took pictures of the mountains. We stopped at Mount Washington resort and got lunch, which was gorgeous. The food was pretty basic, but we had a good time in the arcade. You could feel the history there and according to my mom, it looks like the resort from the movie Dirty Dancing. 

After our stop at Washington, we headed to North Conway and checked into our hotel once we were checked in we met up with my mom‘s cousin Mason, and his wife, and her dinner at the Brewhouse and restaurant called Saco River Brewing. Mom had two drinks, the raspberry seltzer and a blueberry seltzer, which were both amazing. I liked their seltzers because they have fresh purée in them. We had loaded nachos, pretzel bites, wings, and pizza which was all delicious after we talked for a while and played some games. 

We headed over to the small ice cream place where Mason’s daughter works and got some ice cream. The ice cream was super delicious and we stayed super late just talking outside watching the moon change from whitish gray to bright red and glowing. 

Once we were done with our ice cream, we said goodbye and went back to our hotel. We all showered and changed and got ready for bed, watching old reruns of game shows. We had such a great day of traveling. In my opinion, today has been one of our most scenic days of the whole trip. I can’t wait to see the brewery tomorrow!
